My story.
I have a fascination with stories. Words transport me to worlds that are mine to discover in real time. As a child, I wandered the yard observing and using my imagination to make sense of my surroundings. This is when I first learned that I possessed a power to give life to the world around me. It was magical. I spent hours induced in a world of imagination that I got to keep to myself. The solitude was revelry and I would come to realize years later that the rush of butterflies in the pit of my stomach, was creation.
As a young adult I began to tap into my feelings and emotions through written words. The written pages allowed me to live a life, without revealing too much of myself. My writing became more intimate and vulnerable. I comfortably stepped into the shoes of a character and painted for them a life. I created heroines in my safe space. Writing was not only my coming of age voice, but also my protection.
Writing is life for me. In this season, it serves as a way to explore all aspects of myself, regardless of time and space. Expression is the friend who walks beside me through the veil and helps me tell my story with every eye.
The mirrors of my life have always been the healing vessels of poetry and prose. Words give rise to my voice and remind me that I am here.
This community.
A friend of mine once gave me a ribbon with ‘I am a great listener’ printed on it. I often prefer to listen than talk. I listen with the intent of finding the story that lives within chosen words. I seek a magical feeling or sacred emotion with the person in front of me. I yearn to connect and flow.
Each day we create our purpose and share it with the world. I want to share pieces of my world with you. Each one of us is more than just one story. We can all be witnesses. My hope is that you will feel compelled to share your stories in this space.
“This is where we share ourselves, tell our stories and listen. We raise each other and acknowledge each other as precious, intricate souls worthy of love at every step and miss step.“
Here is where you can open your heart and let go.
Eye of Fatima.
The Fatima Hand (also known as Hamsa) is a symbol of feminine power with meaning across various faiths and cultures. It is used to protect the one who wears it and keeps the Evil Eye at bay.
The ‘eye’ is embedded within the healing palm of the Fatima Hand. It is the eye that sees everything and protects against negative energy.
Positivity, abundance and faith are at the heart of the Hamsa. My inspiration is rooted in this powerful symbol.
